A TOAST TO THE LASSIES
On "Burns Night," The toast to the Lassies is the second formal toast and usually deals with " where would we be without them?" This page deals with the same idea. The lassies are a big part of our show program, then part of our breeding program. They are not campaigned as hard or as long as the lads but they love the attention, the excitement and the rewards. They are not cast off when they finish showing, they are treasured and loved. Their favorite part is moving into the ensuite when having babies. I suspect they fake it sometimes just to be able to move upstairs with us for a short time. Below is an introduction to each and the picture is a link to their own personal page with pedigree and pictures.

Sunrise Garden Party - ( Pheobe
) - Little Pheobe was sent to us to show in
Canada for a short time, she was so
successful that in a few shows won eight puppy groups, Best Of Breed over five
specials, a Group four and a Best Puppy In Show. This success worked against us,
we were unable to buy her even though she languished in the kennel for six years
and was eventually placed in a pet home. Here she is winning BPIS under Canadian
Judge Shiela Verhulst.
Ch. Sunrise Lily Marlene - (
Princess Popcake ) - Popcake was registered under the
Sunrise name because she
was a "take back puppy". She came back to us when
she developed an allergy to corn based food. I was busy and enjoying a lot of
success with Sultan so Janice brought her out and together they defeated enough
bitches to earn a Canadian championship. Lily won Best Opposite Sex three times,
defeating specials but showing her in the shadow of Sultan, she was never able
to win Best Of Breed. In her last show we put her up to "Specials Only" and she
still looks back fondly on her days as a special. Lily is so special that we
have given her a "web site", instead of clicking on the picture like all the
others, click the link below.
Ch. Glenscots Viennese Waltz -
( Vewa ) - Vewa was our first home bred champion
and our first home bred dog to
win a group placement. Her first time out, she won Best Of breed over specials
and enjoyed a long successful career. She forced us to bring her littermate
Sultan out early because she finished her championship so quickly. We gave her
this name because of her elegant movement, tremendous reach and drive similar to
her littermate Sultan. This is desirable in a breed expected to equal the speed
of a Greyhound in short bursts. She retired, produced two very special boys, Ch. Glenscots Lord of the Dance and
Ch.
Glenscots Artful Dodger then passed her spectacular movement on to both of them.

CHAMPION GLENSCOTS VIENNESE WALTZ WAS PEACEFULLY RELEASED APRIL 6,2005 AND HAS JOINED THE OTHERS ON THE "TOAST TO ABSENT FRIENDS.
Ch. Braescot Brecks Balvenie
(Kelly) - Joined the Clan
in July 2005, Jane Thompson had asked me to show Kelly
as a puppy and when Jane died suddenly, I was surprised to learn Kelly had been
passed on to me. We were pleasantly surprised to find Kelly had the same Crufts
and Westminster winners in her pedigree that are found in our own lines. Kelly
was conditioned, groomed and trained then started a
very successful show career. Kellys' pedigree, structure and beautiful head makes
her an
excellent outcross.
