MEET THE LADS
The boys are the mainstay of our show program, they are always on with no interruption to their careers for "delicate matters." A male is not shown until he is two years old and with overlapping careers they will be shown for three or four years. Alex was campaigned until Sultan grew up and finished his championship, the procedure repeated itself as Arphie and Laurie came of age. This means that we end up competing against ourselves but we view it as a positive sign when the new blood defeats the old. It proves we are moving in the right direction. This doesn't however mean we are finishing our own dogs against each other, we never enter two class dogs against each other. One must finish before the next one starts. I will not try to put all their official pictures on this site, there are just too many of them but pictures will be available on request to those interested in stud service. This page is an quick introduction and a brief overview of their careers.

The Chieftain- Ch. Sunrise Alexander- (Alex)- Alex came to us
as a two year old and kept us in the game, good natured, well built and always
ready, he provided us with our
first Scottie champion and took us along on our
first trip to the Best In Show ring. When Alex arrived, he had so much hair we
thought he was a small Skye Terrier but after we stripped him out, we could see
we had something special in him. Among his greatest accomplishments, he
sired Laurie and Arpher, now his beard and moustache are white giving him a
certain air of distinction. He sees his main duty now to kiss Dad goodbye each
morning and greet him on his return

The Gentleman - BIS Ch. Glenscots Sultan of Swing- ( Salty
Dog)- A true gentleman
one of those souls that just like everybody they see.
Sultan had a hard row to his championship, the competition pulled their class
dogs and brought out their Specials. Sultan finished the second half of his
championship points winning Best of Breed over Specials, fortunately it wasn't
too hard. His greatest achievement was to win our first homebred Best In Show
despite the handicap of being shown by Dad that day. Under mothers management,
Sultan won over forty group placings, he may have done better but we were caring
for my father at the time and were only able to show him twenty to thirty days each year.
Sultan started his career while Alex was on top but Alex was retired when Sultan
started beating the other Specials. In 1998 Sultan was the #3 Scottish Terrier
in Canada and a last check, was #35 all time Canadian Scottish Terrier.

The Little Engine That Could - Ch.Glenscots Artful Dodger - (Arpher)
- Arphie is probably the most
"correct
Scotty" we have ever bred, he is also the most compact (not small). Tight and
low to the ground, because of great muscle pack, he out weighs the slightly
larger boys in the kennel, tipping the scales at twenty two pounds. Arpher loves to walk with Dad and thinks nothing of a three to six
kilometer walk any day that won't wet his show coat. His determination probably
comes from starting his career in Sultans' shadow, the day after he finished his
championship points and the first time he answered the call "Specials Only" he
managed to defeat his gifted uncle. Arphie is a hoot to show because he just
never quits and in his own words, "loves a bloody good spar."

The Aristocrat- Ch. Glenscots Lord of the Dance- (Laurie) -
Laurie is a lovely big broth of a boy with
the best of both his sire and dam. He
has Alexanders strength and character but is blessed with his mothers elegance.
It was this elegance that earned her the name Ch. Glenscots Viennese Waltz. He
has had an amazing career, winning thirty consecutive times in as many entries
and finishing his championship status with a Breed Over Specials (including his
own littermate.) Laurie is presently cooling his heels while Arpher is being
campaigned, this decision was made based on a coin toss not on any prejudice
on our part. The reason was when we showed them against each other (as specials)
one had to lose, dividing the points meant we never had enough national points on
one dog,
to make the top five.
